The Reverend Gary Schroeder was called to be Pastor of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in 1987. Prior to that he served as Missionary-in-Residence for the Virginia Synod (1986-1987), Pastor of the American Church in Berlin, Germany (1982-1986), and Pastor of Holy Counselor Lutheran Church in Vernon, New Jersey (1974-1982).

The Reverend Joanna Stallings began her full-time ministry at Luther Memorial in August of 1996. Previously she had served as a United Methodist Pastor in North Carolina. Her ordination was officially recognized by the ELCA in 1998 when she received her call to Luther Memorial. Her responsibilities include all educational programs, youth activities and serving as half-time campus minister.

The Reverend Bill King has served as Lutheran Campus Pastor at Virginia Tech since 1984. Prior to accepting this call he served as pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Welcome, North Carolina. In addition to serving as campus pastor at Virginia Tech, Pastor King serves as Deployed Staff for the Department for Campus Ministry, ELCA.
