When You Visit...
Luther Memorial Lutheran Church (LMLC) offers two worship services on Sunday mornings.
- Early service at 8:30 a.m.
- Sunday School for all ages from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
- Late service at 11:00 a.m.
Holy Communion is celebrated twice per month at the
early service. Other weeks the worship format is a liturgy of the
Word.
The
late service always includes celebration of Holy Communion. Luther Memorial uses a variety of liturgies, including
settings from the
Lutheran Book of Worship, seasonal liturgies, and
Now the Feast and Celebration.
When Luther Memorial celebrates
Holy Communion, all baptized Christians are invited to receive the Sacrament.
Children are invited to commune if their parents desire. Children who do not receive Holy Communion in their home congregation
are invited to the altar for a blessing. Non-alcoholic wine is available at least once per month, generally on the first
Sunday. Gluten-free wafers are available at every communion service.
Luther Memorial has
two parking lots: one off of Tom’s Creek Road and another off of Prices Fork Road. If you park in
the Prices Fork lot you can enter the worship area through either the fellowship hall or the front doors facing Prices Fork
Road. If you park in the Tom’s Creek lot, you can enter the building through the Christian Education area. Please continue
through the building and take the elevator at the end of the balcony or go down the stairs to arrive at the worship area. As
you arrive for worship, you will be welcomed by a greeter. If you have any questions or require any special assistance (such
as a hearing device or a seat with high intensity lighting), please do not hesitate to ask the greeter or an usher.
Childcare is available for pre-schoolers during the worship services. It is conveniently located up the steps and above
the worship area. An usher or greeter can direct you. If you park in the Tom’s Creek lot you will pass the nursery as you go
to the worship area. You are welcome to have your children with you in worship, if you prefer!
Luther Memorial is a
Reconciling in Christ congregation. We affirm:
- That gay and lesbian people share with all others the worth that comes from being unique individuals created by God;
- That gay and lesbian people are welcome within the membership of this congregation upon making the same affirmation of faith that all other people make; and
- That as members of this congregation, gay and lesbian people are expected and encouraged to share in the sacramental and general life of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church
Sunday School Classes meet between the two Sunday morning services, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. each week during academic
year. Luther Memorial offers classes for children ages two-and-a-half through adult. Childcare is available during the Sunday
School session (for children age 3 and younger). Greeters can direct you to classes. During the summer months, their are no
Sunday school classes
